I need to clarify: I don't think anyone said anything cruel/demeaning about the writers of claiming fics. I think my response at the time was exacerbated by the aforementioned. So no one who was involved, IMO, has anything to apologize for, regardless. You can't know how sensitive kids might respond to these things. No one ever said anything directly to make me come to these conclusions. I got there all on my own.
